hello jatin, law wants to clarify that company audit and cost audit are 2 different activities and done different professionals company auditor is shareholder oriented and cost auditor is management and government oriented hence it is specified they both cannot be same. Further cost audit is done by practising cost accountant (CMA) and company audit by practising CA. practically, person can be CA and CMA but cannot have 2 COPs. cost accountant cannot do company audit and vice versa.
