new auditor communicates with old auditor before he says yes for assignment
so whenever chane happens new auditor communicates with old auditor 
now they can communicate more if old auditor is fine and client also permits
so communications can happen.
using word confirmation will not be appropriate, confirmation is taken from 3rd parties who have transactions, arrangements with client, old auditor is no longer associated with client, he has said what he wants to say in his audit report.
so it is appropriate to say we can have communication, it is not correct to say we can have confirmations
