In question it is said that the excise department send demand notice and company replied to it that they are not liable to pay and excise department didn’t replied back. Now, it is not clear whether dispute exist or not so you should give answer from both the point of view what to do if dispute exist and what to do if dispute doesn’t exist. Answer given in Param is also explaining both the sides, so this will keep you safe. As there is lack of information explaining both the view is good thing.
