Stratification — means divide population on the basis of a criteria, it can be region (east, west, south, north) or product (A, B, C, D) or Quarter (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th) etc then from each strata (group) selection is done
Value-Weighted Selection — First dividing population on the basis of monetary value, for example high value, mid value and low value and then selecting more items from high value item group as compared to others
Selection of items for testing — In some cases we do 100% selection, at some place we go for sampling and in some cases we select items as per set criteria such as top 10 customers, all foreign branches etc
so there are 3 ways of selection of items for testing 100%, Sample Basis, Criteria Based Selection
