Interpretation of old Caro use to happen as per statement on Caro 2003 and as per that private limited company use to include only those private companies which have limited liability. Hence exemption was not available for unlimited companies.
But caro 2016 is interpreted as per guidance note on Caro 2016 and here they say private limited company means private company as per company act. Now private company means both limited as well as unlimited, this is general stand across companies act. So it means exmeption is available for both limited as well as unlimited.
