Though they seem near-interchangeable terms, is there any thin line of difference between authorization and approval?

To Authorise may have two meanings 1) To allow or permit something.
2) To give someone Power to do something like to approve.
To Approve Simply means to allow something or permit something.
Both words can be used interchangeably it wont have any impact on marks.
