MAIN ASPECTS ARE TO BE CONSIDERED IN RESPECT OF VARIOUS INDUSTRIAL UNITS
1st assessment (EIA) then 2nd Layout & Designing 3rd In layout “Pollution Control Equipment” 4th After establishing plan ” Proper use of Resources” to reduce pollution 5th Develop Environmental Reporting System 6th Keep it updated train people 7th Be concerned for society
8 / 9 / 10 /11 — employee related points
when the come give good HYGIENE / Safety arrangement for EMERGENCY / Medical Facilities / Occupational Health
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT:
- The effect of the factory’s activities on the existing environmental condition is covered in the EIA report. There will be deviations between the EIA factors estimated at the time of commencement of factory, and the actual happenings when the factory starts working.
- If it is observed that the degradation caused to the environmental through the factory activities is higher than what was predicted, the EIA report should also contain mitigatory / measures recommendation therefore.
LAYOUT AND DESIGN:
The factory to provide for the installation pollution control devices with provision for up gradation of pollution control measures and the meet regulatory authorities requirements area of deficiency to be included in the report.
POLLUTION CONTROL SYSTEM:
It has to be reported whether all pollution control measures are in vogue or not next aspect should be whether the same is effective with reference to the type of industry, nature of working and grade of polluting the environment.
RESOURCES MANAGEMENT:
Management resources includes air, water, land, energy, raw materials and human resources with minimum waste and interlinking for the best results to be looked into and reported.
REPORTING SYSTEM:
The information system should be strengthened to generate and its reporting system should be proper, keeping in view, the authorities, responsibilities and subsequent delegations.
UPDATE:
Person who are directly working with the system, may be unaware of the latest developments and requirements for the compliance of stipulations and standards prescribed by the various regulatory authorities, they should be trained and instructed on regular basis, to avoid making the Board/ owner vulnerable to prosecution and penalty.
CONCERN FOR THE SOCIETY:
The industry very often transforms the agrarian environment into an industrial environment. This aspect should be considered to strike a balance between industrial development and society welfare.
INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE:
A Proper system should be in vogue to eliminate industrial unhygienic state.
EMERGENCY SAFETY ARRANGEMENT:
Availability of adequate trained staff and safety amenities with provision for constant up gradation to be verified.
MEDICAL & HEALTH CARE FACILITIES:
Availability of adequate health care provision and medical facility for the workers to be looked into.
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH:
The occupational health hazards depending upon the nature of industry to be verified.
